Scripture
Words of Comfort for Heavy Weeks
Three short passages to return to when the week feels longer than your strength.
Some weeks ask more of us than we have to give. The bills pile up, the phone keeps ringing, and prayer starts to feel like one more thing on the list. This is exactly when short Scripture is kindest: not a study plan, just a sentence to carry.
Start with Psalm 42. Read it slowly, twice. Notice the question it asks out loud: why are you cast down, O my soul? The psalmist does not scold the feeling. He names it, then answers it with remembrance.
Carry one verse into the day the way you would carry water. Repeat it while you wait, while you walk, while you work. Comfort, most days, is not a mood. It is a practice.
Tonight, before sleep, read your verse once more and let it be the last voice you hear. Heavy weeks pass. The Word stays.
